Message	you'd be surprised at how much oil the filter will hold. I always fill my oil filter before fitting. A lot of oil will be absorbed by the time you screw it on so you won't make a mess. I put in 3.5 litres (3.75 USquarts) then run it for a minute and add oil according to the dip stick. This method is foolproof.
